Four one-year apprenticeship places

DIAT Pune is engaging three apprentices as Assistants in General Administration and one as a Lab Technician. Training is governed by the Apprentices Act and Board of Apprenticeship Training, Western Region. The administration and laboratory entries have different educational descriptions, so select the appropriate category in the prescribed form. Completion of this one-year apprenticeship creates no obligation for DIAT to offer employment and should not be presented as a permanent assistant appointment.

Qualification and passing-year condition

The administration row lists any graduate. The Lab Technician row accepts an engineering or science graduate, or an engineering diploma. The qualifying degree or diploma must come from a recognized institution. The interval between passing the qualifying examination and the interview cannot exceed four years. Check this against the actual result or passing date, not simply the year printed at the beginning of a course or the date of a later convocation.

Age and stipend

The baseline age range is 18 to 27, with upper-age relaxation for eligible reserved categories and persons with disability under the applicable government rules. The notice specifies a consolidated stipend of ₹12,300 per month for graduate apprentices, including the 50% direct-benefit-transfer component. Diploma applicants should confirm the applicable stipend classification with DIAT rather than infer a separate amount that the table does not state. Accommodation and travel facilities are not provided.

NATS registration and banking

Registration on NATS 2.0 is mandatory for the apprenticeship route. The notice also requires the candidate's bank account to be Aadhaar seeded for apprenticeship benefits. Use the official NATS link supplied in the advertisement and keep your registration details consistent with educational and identity records. This registration supports eligibility and payment administration; it does not replace attending DIAT's recruitment event or guarantee a training place.

Walk-in date discrepancy

The signed four-page notice twice gives the walk-in as 30 October 2026 at 11 am, while DIAT's Careers index displays 31 October. The signed notice is used for this article's interview date, but this mismatch needs confirmation with DIAT before travel. Contact the administration office through the details in the linked notice, including telephone 020-24604409. Do not wait until the later index date without obtaining clarification.

Documents to carry

Bring the prescribed application and originals with copies of Class 10/12 certificates and marksheets, the qualifying degree or diploma certificate and marksheets, proof of birth date, applicable caste certificate, two passport photographs, PAN, Aadhaar and the bank-passbook front page or a cancelled cheque. The detailed list comes from DIAT's notice. Organise originals separately from the copy set so the verification staff can match the academic, category and banking details efficiently.

Selection and joining

Provisional selection is based on a test/interview and remains subject to certificate verification. DIAT may publish the selected list on its website or communicate by email. The notice expects prompt joining and specifies joining within 15 days of the appointment letter. Incorrect information can result in cancellation even after engagement. Keep the registered mobile number and email active throughout the process, including checking spam folders for official messages.

What the training entails

Selected apprentices receive on-the-job training in a section or department chosen by the institute and must follow that assignment. The notice does not promise that every trainee will rotate through a particular laboratory or administrative unit. Emergency primary/OPD treatment is limited to the institute's MI Room for the apprentice. Application guidance: identify your relevant office or laboratory coursework honestly, while planning for a full year of on-site training near Khadakwasla, Pune.
