Two senior AMR consultancy profiles
ICMR headquarters invites applications for two temporary Senior Consultant Scientific Non-Medical positions in its Antimicrobial Resistance coordination unit. One profile concentrates on public-health/AMR programme expertise; the other requires data-management and artificial-intelligence experience. Both are senior appointments with substantial post-qualification experience. They should not be described as general entry-level data jobs or permanent ICMR scientist recruitment, even though the notice includes a wide range of relevant degree routes.
Public-health profile eligibility
The first profile requires proven specialist competency, at least twelve years of post-qualification experience and a relevant qualification from the listed MSc, BTech, BE, MCA, MPH, BPharm, BAMS, BSMS, MD in AYUSH or equivalent routes. Relevant experience includes public-health programmes, antimicrobial resistance/stewardship, large multicentre projects, surveillance platforms and microbiological-data analysis. Familiarity with government health initiatives and report, publication and presentation writing is also important.
Data and AI profile eligibility
The second profile requires at least ten years of post-qualification experience and the specified computing/IT/AI/ML/computational-biology master's or BE/BTech computing, data-science, AI or related route. Demonstrated data-management, AI/ML and analytic work is essential. Relevant experience includes predictive models, automated processing, large-dataset cleaning and interpretation, databases, dashboards and analytical platforms. Python, R, Java and SQL are examples named in the notice; this is not a requirement to claim every language.
Experience credits and age
Both profiles list ages 40 to 70, assessed at application closing under the general terms. The notice credits a PhD as four years, MD/MS or equivalent as three and MVSc as two; MPH does not receive experience credit. Relevant professional experience should follow the minimum essential qualification. Applicants should present the calculation carefully and avoid double-counting overlapping academic and employment periods. Regular government time-scale employees are ineligible under the stated conditions.
Remuneration, duration and travel
Consolidated remuneration is up to ₹1,50,000 per month for each profile. The phrase up to is a ceiling, not a universal promised salary. Tenure is one year or the project period, whichever ends earlier, and engagement depends on funding and functional requirements. Willingness to travel is relevant. The appointment does not confer regular-staff benefits or a right to absorption and can be ended under the project's contractual terms.
Email application and documents
Send the prescribed completed form and CV to [email protected] by 31 October 2026 at 5 pm IST. The notice requires a recent photograph and self-attested supporting documents for education from Class 10 onward, work experience, age, category where relevant and photo identity. Separate applications are required for the separate positions. An incomplete, unsigned or late email application is liable to rejection, so confirm the final file includes the form as well as the CV.
Selection and verification
Shortlisted candidates receive written-test/interview information by email, and the general terms provide for written examination and personal discussion. Original records must verify the claimed qualifications, age and experience. No interview travel or accommodation reimbursement is offered. The notice gives no detailed universal examination syllabus. Watch ICMR's website for amendments, and keep the email and mobile contact supplied in the application active.
Presenting evidence for the chosen profile
Application guidance: for AMR programme work, explain a multicentre or surveillance problem you managed, how data quality was checked and the outputs you delivered. For AI/data work, describe a system or model you implemented, the dataset preparation and how its results were evaluated. Use only information you are authorized to disclose. Connect examples to the chosen eligibility profile; describing a project as AI-enabled without explaining your own role is unlikely to establish the required senior experience.
